TGIF

I love these posters for "Up."

What a week it has been. So, thank goodness it's Friday! How sad about the deaths of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. They were a part of my childhood, so its bittersweet.

I'm grateful that Dad is recovering well from his eye surgery and he's super surprised at how advanced the technology is. He's doing really well and can see 20/20 now. Great news has come my way for financing my living expenses and that stress has been lifted off my shoulders. Now, just waiting to hear back what my schedule is for school. I got to see "Transformers" and it brought me back to my childhood. Now, they just have to make a live-action Care Bears movie.

This weekend will be spent with family and friends. Another birthday, and its my gram's 93rd on Sunday. She's such a strong lady, physically and mentally! She woke up last Sunday early in the morning, and basically tore up the whole front lawn's dead grass with her gardening tools by herself! If I did that, that would take a few days. And, she said passerbys would give her the thumbs up! I can't wait to take pictures of her bday dinner and send it to our relatives.

Happy Monday!

What a great few days I've had. I've been working on my tutorials to prepare for school and spending time with friends and family before I leave. We've celebrated my mom's American bday and Father's Day, so I'm on cake overload! Here are a few photos from my last few days.
Today, I went to Oakland with my dad and stopped by Bakesale Betty for a fried chicken sandwich to go. I got to see Bakesale Betty in her blue wig, and I got a free chocolate chip cookie.
Sunday in the Mission.
The dog wants pie. We're at Mission Pie enjoying an assortment of pies. Delicious.
Brunch at Pomelo. Our spread.
My brunch selection, the makena. Of course I would choose a sweet over a savory.
I really like the large pomelo. Oh my goodness, my drive from Hayward to Noe Valley was 35 minutes, and I drove slow!

I went to visit my cousins in Oakland. The evolution of the Gund Snuffles! I absolutely love Snuffles. Everyone in my family has one, its the thing to do.

Dushi

I wish I was in the Netherlands to visit this show, titled "Dushi" at the Hague!

BART swing

There was a swing in a BART train. How awesome, yet sad I missed this. This definitely makes riding BART much more fun. There's a flickr group dedicated to the BART swing.

Save the Date

I'm really excited because I got news of an invite to enter a wedding invite design contest. So, I have been looking at wedding sites for inspiration. This is one one of my favorite designs, by Anna at Rifle Design.

Hatch Show Print

Anthropologie's June cover collaborated with Hatch Show Print, one of America's oldest letterpress and print shop.  Hatch Show Print started in 1879 and is based in Nashville, Tennessee.  My future trip will have to be to visit Hatch Show Print!  I can't wait to take a letterpress and printing class at SVA.

I found these great posters at Ork Posters. I'm super excited and nervous at the same time for the move. These posters will help me remember my way around Manhattan and Brooklyn!

Happy Sunday!

I went to Oakland with Mary to have Bakesale Betty's yummy fried chicken sandwich!  It was absolutely delicious and well worth the money.

We also tried their strawberry shortcake and it was yummy as well.  The biscuit was nice and crumbly, almost like a scone.

On Sunday, it was the Temescal Street Fair.  I really liked this fabric used as a tablecloth.

Rice Installation

This was a piece I did for my final project in 3D Design.  The material I worked with was rice and used four different rice varieties.  The installation was about how I see myself in space.

Today is my first blog posting.  I created this blog to document my inspirations, my designs, what I'm working on, and my journey to NY starting in August.
